In our lives we all have such moments that break us apart and some of us recover and others are so sensitive that they get mentally disturbed (also known as depression).

Depression is the mood disorder that causes us to feel worthless and creates suicidal thoughts.
Conditions in depression:

Premenstrual Dysphoric(PMDD):
PMDD occurs in women after child birth or before menstruation and end in menses. In this depression a woman has low energy, fatigue, eating too much, irritability, tension, and bloating.

This depression occurs in children from 6 to 18. It causes difficulty in making friends and aggression in school and home. It occurs frequently 3 to 4 times a week.
Persistent Depression Disorder:
Persistent depression disorder is more common in adults. It stays for a maximum of two years. Patients face trouble sleeping, guilt, lack of worth, and lack of mental peace.
Bipolar disorder:
Bipolar disorder is called manic depression. It is a mental health condition that causes extreme mood swings that include emotional highs (mania or hypomania) and lows (depression). When your mood shifts to mania or hypomania, you may feel, full of energy and irritable. These mood swings can affect sleep, energy, activity, judgment, behavior and the ability to think clearly.

Psychotherapy:
We all need some trustworthy person to talk with but if no one is trustworthy enough you should go and see a therapist because he/she can help you with your problems along with some medicines. This is also known as psychotherapy.
Electroconvulsive Therapy:
If no treatment makes you better than doctors provide your brain a small amount of electric current; it helps you by changing your brain chemistry. Do not worry you will not feel pain because you will be in an unconscious state.
Summary:
Depression is a serious mental illness and it can be treated. It causes you to leave the things that you once enjoyed and captures you in a long period of sadness.
